Beth says she has nothing to add to this blog post.
I’m not sure what that says about me. Not sure what that means about Beth. All I know for sure is that I have lots of habits, fashion choices, life choices that may at first blush seem old-fashioned.
I don’t know if I’d really call them old-fashioned. I’d call them tried and true, dependable, classic... and they make me happy.
So, let’s go ahead and roll the list. I’ll let you be the final judge.
I use a clothesline – I tend to dry clothes in the sunshine instead of using a clothes dryer.
I have an ironing day
I hesitate to purchase gifts on Amazon because I love to personally wrap gifts.
I send cards, I’m always on the lookout for beautiful stationary, cards, stickers, etc.
Even though my ears have been pierced for years, I love to wear vintage clip on earrings
I rarely use a microwave. I like to use the stove
I keep my notes for articles, blog posts, business ideas, etc. in an unlined, bound journal. I rarely use my computer for ideas.
I regularly purchase books.
I regularly use the library
I prefer to shop in real stores (but will shop online)
BONUS: I still use my cookbook collection to find new recipes
BONUS: Dare I mention “landlines,” I still have one. Occasionally it comes in handy.
So, there you have it. Do you have a list?
Or are you more like Beth?
There's something charming and reassuring about hands-on things. Scraps of paper breed yet more ideas, visits to stores and the library mean human contact and shared interests smiles. Landlines are just handy if the electricity goes out. Cookbooks are just pretty and can sate without ever making a thing.
